Within one of the Old Testament's most famous battles lies one of the most tender love stories.
Hidden within the battle of Jericho is the story of Rahab, a beautiful and brave young Canaanite woman who aided the Israelites by hanging a piece of scarlet cord from a window. This act of faith changed her life by placing her in the genealogy of Christ.
Rahab is the youngest daughter of a Canaanite farmer, taken to Jericho for the pagan New Year so her father can find her a wealthy spouse. Sala, the Israelite boy who had once saved her from being kidnapped, is also in Jericho. When the two young people meet again they admit their love for one another, but their different religions make marriage impossible.
Their love story plays out against the background of Jericho's pagan rites. It is only when the One True God of Israel comes into Rahab's life--and she realizes what He is calling her to do--that she and Sala can come together.
Witness Rahab as a young woman determined to find her destiny as she follows her heart toward true love . . . and the One True God.
I am looking forward to going back and rereading this book at a later date I recived it from Booksneeze to read and review and did not get the chance to read it and enjoy it as I wanted to But do look forward to doing it again and rereading it when things are better for me Amberhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10287935819916843522noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6439312404665813320.post-26963649278124698582012-06-06T08:55:00.000-05:002012-06-06T08:55:03.017-05:00Looking for some input ! I want some input from you guys ! And it is about Scripture There are a couple of bible verses that really mean alot to me and are very positive and encouraging I am looking for more that are Positive and Encouraging to others to I want to do up a scrapbook page or maybe a canvas board of some kind not sure yet But to hang up with all the different bible verses on it ! So on days when maybe I am not feeling so strong about moving forward and pushing to the next work out or going for that walk any number of things that I can look at it as a constant reminder that I am not alone and that with God all things are possible !! Some of my Favorites that I tend to lean on a good bit are ... Philippians 4 :13 - 10-14I'm glad in God, far happier than you would ever guess—happy that you're again showing such strong concern for me. Not that you ever quit praying and thinking about me. You just had no chance to show it. Actually, I don't have a sense of needing anything personally. I've learned by now to be quite content whatever my circumstances. I'm just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little. I've found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands empty. Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am. I don't mean that your help didn't mean a lot to me—it did. It was a beautiful thing that you came alongside me in my troubles. -------- And Jeremiah 29:11
King James Version (KJV)
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end....................................................... Those two mean alot to me for a few different reasons , What about you what are some of your encouraging scriptures ???Amberhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10287935819916843522noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6439312404665813320.post-18958629082547994892012-06-04T22:12:00.001-05:002012-06-04T22:12:52.941-05:00Heaven In Her Arms
Heaven in Her Arms: Why God Chose Mary to Raise His Son and What It Means for You
I wasnt sure that I my self was going to enjoy this book when I got it from Booksneeze , How ever I couldnt be more surprised at the easy and free flowing way that Mrs Hickem drew you into the story of how Many Mothers Including my self might look at the Life of Mary the Mother or Our Lord and Savior through her eyes ! I have to agree that she does seem to know her Bible Quite well and has a way of making you understand the point that she is trying to get across in this story and how the story of Mary it makes you realize that she wasnt a older lady and that challenges and fears the love of her son that she must have felt watching him grow and face the challenges in his life that he faced and ultimitly being there and watching her Son , the Son of her Flesh be crucified The many emotions she must have felt ! I HIGHLY recommend this book to any Mothers Aunts Grandmothers you name it I know it made me look at being a Mother to my boys in a while different light Id love nothing more to be able to share this book with all the Women that I know and have them all ready it ! A excellent book ! Thanks for stopping By !! Its a very gripping story tho that covers an array of topics in the everyday life as A SAHM , Life as a American Teenager, Friends and Families and husbands and life along with the struggles of everyday life and loss I cant wait to read part two on this one and see how Mrs Wiseman Continues the story !! Check it out if you get the chance !! have a blessed and wonderful day thanks for checking it out !Amberhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10287935819916843522noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6439312404665813320.post-74019192985054737662012-03-28T19:43:00.002-05:002012-03-28T19:59:11.838-05:00My Review for Dawn Comes Early by Margret Brownley<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 305px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDP77OdaWNQ7G9jLEgN53cF69llYhvRB6GR-PZmagftmWO1bwp93cBkz5EViGrXB5Q0__su-6AOeOFBKSOZHw0gh9pG8nkwqRXLp5f-R8uMRnFZNXFDlb5YOdKln2JGEu7x3vmNCI1pMpX/s320/_200_360_Book.584.cover.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5725113671838955698" />

As always I want to start off by saying that this is my soul opinion of this book I received this book from Booksneeze.Com to read and review

I really enjoyed reading this book I am a avid reader and this one is one that was very easy to get into and very much enjoyable !! From the moment that
Kate Tenney steps off that train coming from Boston too Cactus Patch Az , she was in for a life changing experience and it began right away !! She is coming to The Last Chance Ranch to become a Heriss but one of the main stipulations is that she can Never Marry !! As a novelist shes got writing on her heart and never being a Rancher before shes in for a experience of a life time Follow Kate as she follows her heart and learns the in's and outs of living on and running a cattle ranch and continues to follow her heart as a writer ! I dont want to give away to many spoilers for this book but I do reccomend it and Think that if you like the Western and Historical Christian Fiction you will truly enjoy this one !!

Have wonderful and Blessed Day Thanks for Stopping by !!Amberhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10287935819916843522noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6439312404665813320.post-32076120282943264002012-02-19T14:38:00.000-06:002012-02-19T15:07:25.720-06:00My Review for Sweeter Than Birdsong By Rosslyn ElliottFirst and foremost this is my own opinion I received this book from booksneeze to read and review and my thoughts and opinions of this book are mine and mine alone !

I really wish that I had read the first book in this set first , But that being said ! Even reading this one first I was really pleased with the way the story was written , This is one of those books that when you start reading it you just dont want to put it down !! Kate Winters is a young 18 yr old woman living in the 1800's with a mother who wants to control her life and her everymove ! It's 1855 and Mrs Winters is about to graduate from Otterbein College when she fails to pass the speaking requirement. Given a second chance, Kate is forced to obey her mother's edicts and entertain a wealthy suitor. and try out for a part in a Musical that the soon to be famous Ben Hanby is in charge of ! Frustrated with her family and longing to live a meaningful life, She goes off on with a family also from Westerville to hear her dear friend play at an event ! ,But Kate finds her self on an adventure of a lifetime dealing with the Underground Railroad and helping African Americans escape the bondage's of being slavery , and thats when her life really beings ! I really enjoyed reading this book and would reccomend it to anyone who loves historical fiction ! Mrs Elliott has done a wonderful job of bringing fiction and non fiction together in this story and at the end of the book explains just why she used the people involved in her story and why she was impacted by there story !!

Have a Blessed and Wonderful day and thank you for checking out my blog !!Amberhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10287935819916843522noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6439312404665813320.post-66770638191361116962012-01-12T06:53:00.003-06:002012-01-12T07:10:48.669-06:00book review for Beyond Molasses Creek by Nicole Seitz<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 210px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDLSAlikbGVvLME6qxM_PYiCpRjfIxUpyNRK2AbYvLXZtBh1G8w0QtXhp-pBmf1VsMgkgd3KnCBY0SoG01yh7UNFd2jDsa1iDdRdBpKqdGLIoDQ7A1Z3UGm-MJmLzsaWrT2W8_dx9h8QXv/s320/_225_350_Book.569.cover.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5696728260437259570" /></

When Ally discovers a message her father left behind asking her to quit running, it seems her past isn't through with her yet.

Ally Green has been all over the world and has lost her self along the way along with trials and heartaches of life Ally growing up in the South when times were as they were and life between the races was so taboo she had to hide her feelings and her friendship for Vessy Washington , a young black man that lived across Molasses Creek from Ally and her family , Beyond Molasses Creek follows the life and tragedy that Ally has faced over her life time , When she come home to tell her father goodbye after he passed away she found more then she thought that she would ,

Her husband Geoff, a pastor, lost his job after a scandal rocked their congregation.
Audrey hasn't lost faith. She's held her family together. Their attempt to resurrect a failing bakery is an effort to heal the family wounds and restore their place in the community.
Late to the bakery one dim, foggy morning, Audrey turns into the intersection in front of the shop and strikes a vehicle that she can't see even after the collision settles. Emerging from her car into the fog, she discovers she's hit a motor scooter. There's no rider in sight. There's blood, though, so much that she slips in it, injuring her wrists.

Have a blessed and wonderful day and thank you for stopping by and checking out my review !Amberhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10287935819916843522noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6439312404665813320.post-48812144813177171902011-09-20T13:09:00.003-05:002011-09-20T13:31:49.309-05:00Letting Go by Michelle Sutton !<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 207px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYzrRaUZ20qMQBp9CZ3E3RZo-dnNuR4SCDjzU2sOpZDEVy6gglLJmGscACshIKf_rb30tKYW-v7jhHTnj5wxiM01WQMfw3d5HK2gMlY_lONO_3RofMLPKGd2ZycMTDlCwzclG0O65NHrC5/s320/img28964c9d8ac447cdb.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5654505857563304834" />

Its no secret that I love to read , I had entered on a blog for a chance to win Michelle Sutton's book Letting Go, And I won the book , And all I can say about it is WOW , This book covers the topics that so many Christians try to hide and not deal with and it hit home to me in so many ways , I started reading the book last night and I DID NOT want to put it down ,Michelle this is the first one of your books I have ever read and I am looking forward to reading Many Many more of them , I don't want to give to many spoilers about the book because I think its a must read for many And I am defiantly looking forward to reading book 2 in the series !! Gods amazing Love and giving us forgiveness even when we think that we arent worthy of his love or forgiveness !! But we are worthy and he is willing to give it to us all we have to do is trust him and ask him and let him guide us !! If ya get the chance pick it up and read it !! It is so worth it !! Here is a little peak at what the cover has on it

Letting Go - From an early age Diane Simmons was trained by her parents in the art of seduction, but she hates that about herself and wants to be loved for who she is, not what she looks like. Outwardly she appears to have everything a woman could want. She's a successful attorney with a perfect figure, yet she's miserable and alone and often attracted to the wrong men. She longs for a husband and a family of her own, but men lie to her. She's mystified, wondering why she can't find true love when it seems like she's doing everything right. After using fashion magazines and romance novels as guides for finding true love and continually failing, Diane gives up on romance after being lied to by yet another boyfriend. She finally realizes the world's view of love is totally unrealistic and distorted. She wants to find a better way, but she has no clue where to look.

Is a perfect example that in Life we have to let go and Let God !!

Have a Great Day !!Amberhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10287935819916843522noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6439312404665813320.post-60027057775399151852011-09-09T15:26:00.003-05:002011-09-09T15:32:24.426-05:00Book Review for Our Last Great Hope<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 76px; height: 116px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2wvokrn1mLkwaW6BB6LUAVoFqI0F7CfwSJny_TpniNJI9FE5mJjIeIJiyUsRxRSK5xOZaCSsV8amk8_OkdfIthGFzKX5x4_cA4TQSPEoqR05cvE-O5eAr1LsJX4qu-Phy1y78tAVJR6wa/s320/_76_128_Book.492.cover.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5650460417096540834" />
I have had a really hard time with this book , and have tried 3 or 4 times to pick it up and read it but I just cant seem to get into it , This is just my opinion of the book and I am not saying that it is bad or anything I just cant seem to get past the first few pages of it :( I will at a later date try and pick it up to read it again but for right now it will have to go on the shelf ........
The spine of this book has on it re imagining the way you relate yo God !
And that is a understatement to the way that Mr Jethani breaks down the differences in the many types of relationships that people tend to have with God , I have had a sort of hard time with this book in the sense that he is kind of confusing in some of his wording with in it , But once past those points , I do clearly see why we as a society have broken down our Own relationships with God , with in the church , life , community and in our own homes ,But even more important i see why he has said the things that he has because they do make sense we tend to put God on a shelf and pull him down when we need him , Or we find our selves when we are in trouble , hurting , in pain , when the country is in turmoil and our life doesn't seem to be going right that's when we also tend to pull God out and put him on display , When in all actuality we should Have God first in our hearts Daily , When we get up in the morning during the day and before we go to bed at night !! It should be a God thing all the time not just when we need him in our minds , Cause in our Hearts and Lives we always need him !! A quote from with in the book that really stood out to me was this --- Its by Os Guinness , First and foremost we are called to some one (GOD) not to be something (such as motherhood politics or teaching ) IN other words its not our circumstances or behaviors or radical decisions that give our lives meaning or hope, but our unity with God himself !!

Id recommend this book for those that want to read and deepen there understand and relationship with God Ive enjoyed reading it and look forward to sharing it with others

The oppions that I have posted about this book are my own ! Dont take my word for it read the book yourself and search within your soul to see where it takes you ! Because in reality we really never have to handle or face any situation Alone at all ! There is a song by Matthew West that is Called Strong Enough , Here are the lyrics to is

Matthew West ....Strong Enough
Lyrics:

You must, You must think I’m strong
To give me what I’m going through
Well forgive me, forgive me if I’m wrong
But this looks like more than I can do
On my own

I know I’m not strong enough to be
Everything that I’m supposed to be
I give up, I’m not strong enough
Hands of mercy won’t You cover me?
Lord, right now I’m asking You to be
Strong enough, strong enough
For the both of us

Well maybe, maybe that’s the point
To reach the point of giving up
‘Cause when I’m finally, finally at rock bottom
Well that’s when I start looking up
And reaching out

‘Cause I’m broken
Down to nothing
But I’m still holding on to the one thing
You are God
And You are strong when I am weak
I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength
And I don’t have to be strong enough
I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength
And I don’t have to be
Strong enough, strong enough

I hope that after reading these Lyrics that they touched you , and reminded you that you dont have to be strong enough to face any problem or situation and think that you are alone , God is there , Hes always there to guide us when we are down to help us up when we have fallen and even in the Good times when things are all okay hes still there as well ! Guiding , Protecting and Above all !! God Loves Us ! just as we are !!
I hope you have a blessed and wonderful weekend ! Thank you for stopping By and checking out my blog today ! Have a blessed and wonderful day !! Check it out its well worth it

Happy Summer Reading !!
God Bless And Always Count Your Blessings !

John Trent , Ph D
A Place Called Blessing Amberhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10287935819916843522noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6439312404665813320.post-80901019825451648952011-06-15T07:23:00.003-05:002011-06-15T07:35:36.151-05:00Book Review for The Final Summit by Andy Andrews<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 309px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFAbGtkaCyc4oJNaFZeZ8k2vfPB2oeflQ00SXuZ7jurvHtvMABqNiFQovw8YkjrhIImugDRzT9D-bB6VL8cijkOMQCsC592CJhG87sHsTf6HwdhTy9-m5uLyZLLJXkYeSlxmueZDVGnn7g/s320/_200_360_Book.305.cover.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5618423779346113298" />
I joined booksneeze so that I could read and review books , This is just my oppion on this book and I must say while i was hesitant to begin with reading it Once I did I couldn't put the book down ,
Mr Andrew draws you into time travel and pondering questions and answer that will make you stop and think seriously about what you are reading , The book is very well written and I found my self laughing a few times while reading it because of some of the things the character's which i have got to add are well known and a wonderful assortment of them drawn together so easily from Ab Lincoln to Washington Anne Frank , Gabriel and so many others that made the travel through this book extremely enjoyable and I highly recommend this book to others to read , I look forward to finding other books of Mr Andrews and sharing this one I personally think also that it could reach several different ages that would find it a great summer time read !! Check it out the book is really good !! Id love to know what others that read it think about it as well !! Not all people that are homeless are like the stereo type that they have been giving that they just want people to feel sorry for them or they don't want to work for anything , ALOT of these people have stories that would humble and move you , Praise God that I was able to experience this and I look forward to going back , I could blog a month of post about this trip alone ! We are going back in December to continue our mission and I will post more about that soon , But thank you for taking the time to read this and God Bless !!
~A~

Casting Crowns The Word Is Alive !

Looking out from His throne, the Father of light and of men
Chose to make Himself known and show us the way back to Him
Speaking wisdom and truth into the hearts of peasants and kings
He began to unveil the Word that would change the course of all things

With eyes wide open, all would see

The Word is alive
And it cuts like a sword through the darkness
With a message of life to the hopeless and afraid
Breathing life into all who believe
The Word is alive
And the world and its glories will fade
But His truth, it will not pass away
It remains yesterday and forever the same
The Word is alive

Simple strokes on a page
Eternity's secrets revealed, carried on from age to age
It speaks Truth to us even still
And as the rain falls from Heaven, feeds the earth before it returns
Lord, let Your Word fall on us and bring forth the fruit You deserve

With eyes wide open, let us see

(Chorus)
*PERSON ON MEGA PHONE*
The Bible was inscribed over a period of 2000 years.
In times of War and Days of Peace.
By Kings, Physician, Tax Collectors, Farmers, Fisherman, Singers and Shepherds.
The Marvel is that a library so perfectly cohesive.
To be produced by a diverse crowd.
Over a period of time, which stagers the imagination.
Jesus is his greatest Subject.
