Book Review For With by Skye Jethani

The spine of this book has on it re imagining the way you relate yo God !
And that is a understatement to the way that Mr Jethani breaks down the differences in the many types of relationships that people tend to have with God , I have had a sort of hard time with this book in the sense that he is kind of confusing in some of his wording with in it , But once past those points , I do clearly see why we as a society have broken down our Own relationships with God , with in the church , life , community and in our own homes ,But even more important i see why he has said the things that he has because they do make sense we tend to put God on a shelf and pull him down when we need him , Or we find our selves when we are in trouble , hurting , in pain , when the country is in turmoil and our life doesn't seem to be going right that's when we also tend to pull God out and put him on display , When in all actuality we should Have God first in our hearts Daily , When we get up in the morning during the day and before we go to bed at night !! It should be a God thing all the time not just when we need him in our minds , Cause in our Hearts and Lives we always need him !! A quote from with in the book that really stood out to me was this --- Its by Os Guinness , First and foremost we are called to some one (GOD) not to be something (such as motherhood politics or teaching ) IN other words its not our circumstances or behaviors or radical decisions that give our lives meaning or hope, but our unity with God himself !!

Id recommend this book for those that want to read and deepen there understand and relationship with God Ive enjoyed reading it and look forward to sharing it with others

Strong Enough !

Sometimes you just have to step back and realize that you dont have to always be strong that its okay to admit that sometimes we arent Strong Enough to handle every situation in life all on our own !! Because in reality we really never have to handle or face any situation Alone at all ! There is a song by Matthew West that is Called Strong Enough , Here are the lyrics to is

Review for Rumors Of God by Darren Whitehead and Jon Tyson

We have all had a time in our faith, where we question about why things are the way that they are , And Lots of times the questions seem to go unanswered , I have got to say that this book has made me do alot of my own soul searching and questioning and driving me to look for answers ,
A great read that I highly recommend to others and plan on sharing with several people that I know as well , This would be a great book for a Church group to do as a group study and it does have a Study Guide to go along with it in the back
Both Darren and Jon touch alot of topics with in the book and take you back and forth between biblical times and current day with situations that are close to the heart of so many , that leave many people , Hurt and searching for acceptance within there everyday life , Touching the bases of Church Hurt, Drugs , Disease Forgiveness ,just to name a few , God is not just a rumor in our lives hes there we just have to open our hearts and minds and let him in !



Rumors of God: Experience the Kind of Faith You've Only Heard About is a fantastic read. It's challenging, insightful and convicting, Pick it up and ;et it open up your heart :)

Book Review For A Place Called Blessing

I started this book yesterday and finished it up just a few moments ago and had to share this review of this book , AMAZING is all I can say , Very touching and heartfelt with alot of emotions and feelings that so often as adults seem to be not thought about a child and the struggles and issues that they deal with in and out of the world and how they view them , This book is a must read ,That is heartfelt with many different emotions and feelings I am truly glad that I ordered this one to read and plan on passing it around for several others to read , This isnt one that as you start reading it that you think you will have it figured out right away , And I must say it didnt end like I thought that it would so I highly recommend this book to read It left me with tears in my eyes and brought alot of memories back to me as well of things in my own life ! Check it out its well worth it

Book Review for The Final Summit by Andy Andrews

I joined booksneeze so that I could read and review books , This is just my oppion on this book and I must say while i was hesitant to begin with reading it Once I did I couldn't put the book down ,

Mr Andrew draws you into time travel and pondering questions and answer that will make you stop and think seriously about what you are reading , The book is very well written and I found my self laughing a few times while reading it because of some of the things the character's which i have got to add are well known and a wonderful assortment of them drawn together so easily from Ab Lincoln to Washington Anne Frank , Gabriel and so many others that made the travel through this book extremely enjoyable and I highly recommend this book to others to read , I look forward to finding other books of Mr Andrews and sharing this one I personally think also that it could reach several different ages that would find it a great summer time read !! Check it out the book is really good !! Id love to know what others that read it think about it as well !! Have a Blessed and Wonderful Day

Youth Trip to Atlanta !

Being The Hands and Feet for Jesus Christ and Sharing Gods Word Until The Whole World Hears !

I went on a mission trip to Atlanta with the youth group from our church this is my testimony and I wanted to share it with everybody along with a few pictures from the trip !

Thinking back on this summer and the things that happened, I don't know just where to start and I feel I need to begin my story in May. I feel that God was using certain events to plant a special seed in my heart. I was still struggling with my faith and I was unsure of where God could truly use me.

We started attending Church in March and in April my son Neal and I signed up to go on the Atlanta mission trip. I was excited about becoming more and more involved in a Church. The happiness and wholeness I was experiencing from being there made it feel like we were become a part of the Church family. The peace God began to place within me was overwhelming and I desired to find a way to share it.

I was excited about the trip and I was also nervous. I am not sure my heart was fully in it and I had no idea what to expect, but I was allowing God to lead me and trusting him. Then my son was admitted to the hospitall and had to have emergency surgery on May 24^th. The out pour of love and support we received from our Church family at that time touched me in a way that I am not sure I will ever be able to put into words.

The experience put a longing within my heart for a continuing change in my life. I wanted to begin living a life more pleasing to God. I wanted to make sure I would be able to also provide that type of love and support to someone if I were ever called. My desire to go on a mission trip increased that night and I knew my heart was completely in it.

I was amazed at the amount of homeless people in Atlanta . As we walked from our parking area to the Atlanta Braves game we saw homeless lingering the streets and under the bridges. However, the sight of them hit me more as we left and drove back to our 5 star hotel. They were digging in the trash, pulling boxes out to sleep in, and just laying along the streets. Looking down from our room, I thought, “You would have never known there are over 8,000 homeless down there”.

I can not describe the things we saw or experiences we received from simply handing out water. We met a lady named Barbara who had aids and cancer both. Her family wanted nothing to do with her because of the aids. We asked if we could do anything, she simply asked us to pray and so we did. And this is Barbra to this day i can still see her trying to walk off and the trouble that she had in doing so and I wonder about her alot

We passed out over 500 tracks with the word of God on them. Watching the youth stand bold and fearless as they spread Gods love was a testimony itself. Watching them pray with others did things to my heart that I can not put into words. Watching others plant seeds in the hearts of strangers upon the street allowed me to see just how much the seed within my own heart had grown.

We attended a service at Atlanta First Methodist Church and heard the testimony of a former homeless man, a man who once served in the United States Military. Hearing his story allowed me to see things in a different light and my heart truly softened that wonderful night.

Due to the events prior and during that mission trip I have since rededicated my life to Christ and I look forward to serving anywhere he may lead me.

This became our theme you could say for the trip This was a billboard that was right outside of our hotel in downtown Atlanta and After being a part of this mission and handing out all the water and food that we did , This group of 12 carried over 200 bottles of water and we handed them out to the homeless we passed out snacks that were for our own group to the people and anything that we had that we could give them , and to see the look in there eyes to hear these people thank us and to have them say that they don't have this out poor of love and haven't for years is really sad , Most of us in America are just a paycheck or 2 away from being homeless our selves , So the next time that you see some one that is homeless think that could be you and don't take for granted the things that you have ! Not all people that are homeless are like the stereo type that they have been giving that they just want people to feel sorry for them or they don't want to work for anything , ALOT of these people have stories that would humble and move you , Praise God that I was able to experience this and I look forward to going back , I could blog a month of post about this trip alone ! We are going back in December to continue our mission and I will post more about that soon , But thank you for taking the time to read this and God Bless !!
